update for those curious

So for those of you who aren't up to speed with the latest news in the Valley Fever saga....

My Lung Doctor took one last blood test to be sure that I have Valley Fever, and sent it to UC Davis- he said they have THE best lab in the country. Anyway, if the test came back positive, then he would start me on a 3 month treatment of a prescription.

drum roll please...

The test came back positive. Such a bummer. I was really hoping that it would come back negative so that way I wouldn't have be on meds. Anyway, the treatment should last about 3 months, however the Doc said that it might even be up to 6 months. I'm really bummed to be on meds for that long, but am SO thankful that Valley Fever is treatable. I'm also thankful that my case of Valley Fever was mild compared to the life threatening cases that I have heard about.

I know many of you have lifted me up in prayer, and I thank you for that. I would appreciate your continued prayers in that God would use this medication to heal my lungs. Thanks, friends.

love...

I was reading about your condition Coccidioidomycosis (Valley Fever) after I read your post. Are you on bed rest? Was your case acute, chronic, or disseminated? Are you being treated with any of these medicines: amphotericin B, ketoconazole, fluconazole, or itraconazole? The medical website I looked at says it's a more serious complication if you are pregnant..(just to let you know). Also I found this site that has ten ways to boost your immune system:

Here's another site that has some information about your condition. Maybe you already looked at it, but just in case you haven't yet:

Love you and want the best for you.
